End of an era as the previous version of DriveBC is being decommissioned.
As of November 4, 2025, the previous version of DriveBC has reached the end of its serviceable life and is being retired. Thank you for your patience as we transition to our new modernized platform. We understand that the old version of DriveBC will be missed by some.
This new version of DriveBC is refreshed, resilient, and ready for modern challenges and emergencies. We ask that you please update your bookmarks now.
Some of our history...
2005 – Launched (one year after Facebook, one year before Twitter)
2011 – DriveBC mobile site created
2012 – Plan Your Route feature added
2013 – DriveBC Map and feature upgrades
2015 – Open511 launched, and slight changes to the look of the site
2023 – Work begins on a replacement
In its time, DriveBC has seen us through several emergencies including COVID-era border lockdowns and travel restrictions; several wildfires, major flooding (including the 2021 Atmospheric River event), and strong winter seasons, keeping us informed along the way.
Thank you for supporting DriveBC. You've been a vital resource in informing and improving the new digital platform. Listening to how we can better serve you is a priority for us, and it will continue to be as we move forward.
